Basic Information

Dining Experience

Dining at Gora Kadan is a highlight of the stay. Guests can enjoy seasonal kaiseki cuisine in the historic Kan’in-no-miya Villa, a building dating back to the early Showa era. The menu features expertly crafted dishes that highlight Japan’s finest seasonal ingredients.

In 2023, Gora Kadan introduced an exclusive sushi experience on its second floor, guided by the renowned Ginza sushi restaurant, Sushi Yoshitake, which has held three Michelin stars for twelve consecutive years. This new addition allows guests to enjoy freshly prepared sushi right before their eyes, adding an interactive element to the dining experience.

Onsen (hot springs) and Rock Bath

The ryokan provides several bathing options, including a large public bath utilizing water from three private on-site hot spring sources. Guests can also reserve the open-air bath with a steam sauna for private use for 40 minutes at no extra charge. Additionally, there is an outdoor heated pool with a jacuzzi, with swimwear and bathrobes available for rent.

One of the standout features at Gora Kadan is its rock bath, or ganban-yoku, which offers a unique and therapeutic experience. This traditional heat therapy utilizes natural stones to provide a deep, detoxifying heat. The therapeutic heat also helps to relax muscles, ease joint pain, and relieve stress.

Wedding and Events

Gora Kadan is an ideal venue for weddings and special events. Couples can choose between an outdoor ceremony surrounded by lush greenery and sunlight or a more formal church wedding with a minister. The venue offers a picturesque and memorable backdrop for any celebration.
